USING NEW TECHNOLOGY IN A TRADITIONAL WAY: In this three-day, hands-on workshop you will learn how to create images traditional appearance. This is not a workshop to teach you glitzy tricks or graphic applications of Photoshop. Working on class-provided images, the emphasis will be to do in Photoshop what has traditionally been done in the darkroom. Through step-by-step instruction and repetition, you will learn cropping, exposure control, contrast, color control, saturation, dodging and burning the professional way, making basic selections and sharpening images.

CLASS DAYS: Third Monday of each month / 11am – 2pm
CLASS SIZE: 4 Participants
TUITION: $85 dollars
ONE-DAY INTERMEDIATE CLASS: In this one-day workshop you will explore the selection process using color range plus the various selection tools. You will learn how to work with quick mask, convert color images into black & white while retaining the color information and preparing images for printing.

BEYOND THE BASICS / PRIVATE SESSIONS: Personalize Photoshop to meet your needs. Gary will work with you using the skills that you have learned along with new processes that will help you achieve your goals.

All levels of Photoshop - Take this opportunity to arrange for a class to study with a highly qualified staff instructor who will customize a class to meet your own special needs. We also provide custom workshops for groups of 3 to 6 participants that can be set up around your schedule. Our instructors work with students of all levels – beginners to advanced Photoshop users.
INSTRUCTORS: JO BRENZO majored in Photography through the Fine Arts Department of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She has taught for the past 17 years at the Bellas Artes, the Mexican National Art School of Mexico. She established the Academia de Fotografía in 1995, which is located in San Miguel de Allende where she is both the director and an instructor. Her career has included teaching positions in photography and individual exhibitions throughout Latin America, Europe, and the United States. / GARY BERKOWITZ holds an AA from M.S.A.C. College with an emphasis in printmaking and continued his printmaking studies at C.S.U.F. He has been a printmaker since 1975. In San Miguel he has taught printmaking and Photoshop for the past for the past 10 years.
