This is a class for both beginners and for painters who feel the need for a more solid grounding in drawing fundamentals. Beginning and intermediate artists learn to see and draw both accurately and expressively, with the emphasis on expressiveness. Students learn alternate and complementary methods of drawing - contour, simplification of shapes, and gesture, which involve simply the control of line, form and action. The materials needed are simple: charcoal, soft pencils, eraser and sketch pad (about 11”x16”). The human figure is the basis of the class, although we draw other subjects as well. Model fees are included in the class fee. Each class is paid for individually.
